Every project begins with the birth of a single song. For this album, it was “I Miss the America I Grew Up In,” a track that carried me back to my roots and reminded me of the power music has to shape lives, including my own. That song inspired “Music Meant Something,” and from there the journey continued. “American Dreamer” tells the story of chasing the dream out on the road with a band, while “On Any Given” reflects on gratitude for the present and the winding path that brought me here. Before long, I had written 12–15 songs and carefully chose 11 that told the story best. With the same trusted players and engineers by my side, people who truly understand my vision and make the process both fun and seamless, Where I Am Now captures the where, when, how, and why of my life in song.
